Frequently Asked Questions

  • The first step is scheduling a 15-Minute phone consultation to discuss your needs and determine if we are a good fit. To book this free appointment click our contact tab and fill out the form. You will be contacted with available times to book your consultation.

  • To ensure that your time and energy are not wasted, we have carefully crafted our onboarding process, starting with the free 15-minute consultation. This consultation allows for you and Dr. Fatuma Dzilala to assess whether So We Heal is the best fit for you and whether we are the best provider to help you with your mental health needs.

  • We offer 45 minute sessions as well as 60 minute sessions.

  • Each client is unique and has a set of identities that they enter the therapy room with. No particular area of life is included and emphasized in therapy without the desire and willingness of the client themselves. Religion and spirituality mean different things to each of us. Whether you want to include religion and spirituality in therapy or not, it is your decision. Similarly to ethnic and racial identities, each client decides what part of their identity is important for them to include in therapy together. Good therapy never forces anything on a client.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your psychotherapy service. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
